Wazapp, Zap, WPP or WhatsApp: what is the correct name?

"Wazapp", "Zap", "Zapzap", "WPP" and "Whats" are Brazilian nicknames for the WhatsApp. Meta's official — and only registered — name is WhatsApp. Here you understand the variations and why this matters for the search.

Why so many variations?

The name "WhatsApp" is difficult to pronounce and type in Portuguese. Brazilians adapted by creating dozens of variations:

• Zap, Zapzap, Zap-zap — short for “App” at the end.
• WPP — literate acronym (Whatsapp → WPP).
• Whats — only the first part.
• Wazapp, Wassap, Wassapi — phonetic writing.
• Wts — lean abbreviation.

The official name is WhatsApp

In professional communication, always use WhatsApp (with capital W and capital A). It is the registered name of the Meta platform. Nicknames fit in informal conversations — but in sales texts, contracts and SEO, the official name is ideal.

Wazapp Web? WPPWeb? Everything is WhatsApp Web

Regardless of the nickname, the version of WhatsApp that runs in the browser (in web.whatsapp.com) is the same. If you search for "Wazapp Web", "WPP Online", "Zap Web" or "WhatsApp Web" — you arrive at the same place.

How to professionalize your "Wazapp"

If you use WhatsApp to sell or service, it's worth knowing the Zapext — Chrome extension that adds CRM Kanban, secure mass messaging, chatbot and multi-attendant within WhatsApp Web itself. More than 3,000 Brazilian companies have already professionalized their "wazapp" with us.
